ACS Puget Sound GUIDELINES FOR STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS
The deadline for submissions for this grant has passed. Details on the recipients will be shared with chapter members in the August issue of the Whulj. The following information is being retained for reference. The American Cetacean Society-Puget Sound Chapter (ACS/PS) would like to encourage student participation in the Society for Marine Mammalogy's 18th Biennial Conference on the Biology of Marine Mammals (Quebec, October 12-16, 2009) by offering travel grants for ACS Student Members. Two student travel grants ($500 each) will be selected by a lottery system from all applications received by the Friday, 17 July 2009 deadline. To qualify for this grant, you need to:

Note: As an awardee, you will be asked to present your poster or oral talk at a future ACS/PS general meeting in Seattle, or provide a summary report of your poster/spoken presentation for inclusion in a future issue of our chapter newsletter, Whulj. The student travel grant application period closes Friday 17 July 2009 (11:59pm PST)! Notification of the student travel grant awards will be made by Wednesday, 22 July 2009. IMPORTANT: If you are selected for an award, you will need to make sure you register for the conference by the end of the early registration period (July 31, 2009) or the award will be given to someone else.
